Renewable energy wanted

Yesterday, over 900 people braved a cold, wet day on Nobby’s Beach to protest the need for urgent political action to address climate change.

We spelt out "BEYOND COAL..!" (I was part of the dot on the exclamation mark!)

It was truly inspiring to see so many people, from all walks of life, young and old. Jane Smith, Greens candidate for Charlestown, was there, as was Bryce Gaudry, MP for Newcastle.

Sydney-appointed Labor candidate Jodi McKay wasn't seen and neither was conservative independent Cr John Tate.

Jodi McKay was seen a few days earlier at a fundraiser to raise money for the Newcastle Businessmen's Club so they could buy a $30,000 air conditioner! Now that's a climate action!
